This would have to be one of the best experiences I’ve had, I have been to Phuket before, but seeing it from the bike is a totally different experience. Simon and the team at Cycle to Escape are absolutely amazing from organising your daily rides to your accommodation to your meals to where we stop for coffee and coconuts, you could not ask for anything else, I experienced an awesome time with some great and new mates. I will definitely be back next year. As for mental health, if I did this once a year it would be the perfect check in for me.  If you are looking for something different this is it.

Could not of asked for anymore. The rides were amazing ,and are catered for all level of riders. Simon and the rest of the team at cycle to escape have done a awesome job organising this tour. A day on tour starts with a early morning cycle finished with a coffee. Than you have rest of the day to do what you want.in the evening we all get picked up by one of Simons drivers and taken to a dinner that has been organised by the team. These tour are catered for non cyclist partners as well they will get well looked after on tour. I am just waiting on the 2023 tour dates to come out so I can book my next one.

Had the best week ever. The rides were extremely enjoyable and not to taxing. Enjoying a coffee stop every day. The accomodation was amazing and central to everything you need. Simon and the team at cycle to escape made sure the week went seamless. From massages, food to daily activities you the information and team are at hand. Will be coming back for another tour in the very near future. Value for money you can’t beat it.

All good things come to an end.  My Cycle to Escape trip to Phuket, Thailand, was simply a fantastic week of cycling, cultural sensory blasts, extraordinary dining, laugh after laugh, and great mateship with friends old and new.  Thai people are beautiful gentle souls – their manners, politeness, and never-ending kindness make Aussies look like….well….yobbos.  Maybe we are?  By Australian standards, Thai society has very little road regulation, with motorists and thousands of motorbikes zipping every which way, but I felt much safer cycling there than in Australia.  That’s no bullshit.  They don’t do road rage in Phuket – it’s chilled and friendly, and motorists and cyclists happily co-exist.  We saw plenty of great sites and I loved the tranquility of riding through rubber plantations, and the eerie quietness of the coastlines.  Narrow winding backstreets were pretty cool to ride and street vendors are in places you wouldn’t expect.  It was hot and incredibly humid, so being drenched in sweat is to be expected and an acceptable look.  I took my washing every couple of days around the corner to M.M. Laundry, where a lovely smiling Thai laundry lady washes and irons everything for you, and hands them back wrapped and sweet smelling later that same day.  We sipped cocktails under coconut trees on Surin beach; did a day trip to the Phi Phi Islands on a very nice (and fast) boat; snorkelled in pristine waters around the Phi Phis; had fantastic Thai massages; ate out at ridiculously good restaurants; stayed at first class accommodation; Cycle to Escape arranged pick up and drop offs for us in the funkiest minibuses going; and yep, we drank beers at Go-Go Bars and Bangla Road.  Go to Thailand with an open and respectful mind, and you’ll absolutely love it.  Thanks to our host and tour organiser Sim Reilly for putting on a brilliant week.  Thanks to our Thai cycling guides Bang Chana Tri and Anawat Jab, and chauffeur extraordinaire Kuhn Bond.  Do yourselves a favour, do Cycle to Escape.  I’m going back next year.  “Khop khun khrup”
